Welcome! I have started a new project called African Threads in support of The Grandmother to Grandmother Campaign. I am collecting charming folk art embroideries from women’s groups in South Africa. These embroideries tell the stories of these women’s lives. Please scroll down to the African Threads embroidery logo below to read more and see the embroideries available. Selection is growing and I have really fascinating new embroidery hangings and other items coming in over the months. I have a mailing list so you can be notified when new pieces arrive. Mark your email "African Threads".
My bi-monthly Horizons e-newsletter is growing too! My goal in this newsletter is to foster creative exploration in quilt making, to share ideas, and tips about design. Read news of other quilters and their fabulous quilts and landscapes. It’s a resource of useful and interesting information. Click on “winter 2006” for photos of my trip to Yokohama quilt Festival and Bali. Send me an email for a free subscription to Horizons. I'll send you an update when there’s a new newsletter (the list is never shared).
New Book - Points of View!
I'm delighted to announce the publication of my new book - Points of View: Landscape Quilts to Stitch and Embellish by Martingale Publishing The book will be available in quilt stores in September or you can order one from me and I'll autograph it for you! I've developed a new easy template pattern method for charming small wall hangings or framed pieces. Each project has full sized patterns. I've designed the projects to be very accessible and each introduces a new techniques such as fusible appliqué, transfer paints, colored pencil, paint stick, confetti appliqué and more. You'll find lots of great design ideas and technique tips which enhance each project. Suitable for the beginner to more advanced quilter or stitcher. My on-line store will carry many of the products suggested in the projects such as Ranger Heat Set Inks, Misty Fuse and Teflon pressing sheets. I'll be adding paint sticks and other products over the next few months. New Online Store with New Products! I have re-designed my on-line store and added some hot new products that I’m excited to share with you: New On-line Canadian Exclusives!
Please visit my supplies page to check out some of my other favourite hard to find products like: Thread Heaven, bead boxes, reducing glass, what I think are the very best English appliqué needles, made by John James. I’m very pleased to offer new, very low prices for Teflon Pressing sheets on the Web! Pay Pal is easy to use and there are discounts for bulk orders.
My best to you in creative quilting,
